World Peace
Parents' Mission Plan is to:
-
Refine and adapt a community
service project for Rotary clubs worldwide
to strengthen the participating clubs and
the families in their communities.
-
Develop educational and
instructional how-to materials for Rotary
clubs to use as they plan, organize and
implement this annual service project to
strengthen families in the clubs’
communities.
-
Enlist, educate and train
Rotary clubs to organize and sponsor an
annual Family Week Celebration to recognize
the benefits the institution of family
offers their respective communities.
-
Develop educational materials
for distribution to parents to use in
teaching universal virtues and principles to
their children.
|
Recognized as the "natural fundamental, universal
group unit of society,"
the institution of family is a common denominator for
every community in the world regardless of race,
nationality, religion, political persuasion or
geographic location.
Rotary is an international organization of individuals
that also transcends the competing interests of race,
nationality, religion, political persuasion and
geographic location.
A Rotary club undertaking a community service project to
empower the family triggers a positive and powerful
synergistic action in their community. Consider
this:
- A club that plans, organizes, and sponsors our
Empower the Family service project sets into motion
events and activities involving not only families,
but other primary organizations in the community
including churches, schools, businesses, local
government, the media, etc. By engaging families
and these other organizations, the club's effort is
magnified many-fold.
-
When organized as recommended,
Empower the Family becomes an annual
community event. Sponsoring the project the second
and subsequent years takes much less time and effort, while the synergistic or magnifying
impact of the celebration continues to grow.
-
Residents, particularly
children, benefit from having this community-wide,
pro-family celebration to counter the anti-family, and
the
dysfunctional family, entertainment offered by many
in the media.
-
A child growing up where
exemplary families and family members are recognized
and honored will have a cumulative, indelible and
positive impression made upon his or her mind.
To activate this energizing effect, World Peace Parents
has developed, refined and adapted its Empower the
Family project for Rotary clubs worldwide. Educational
and instructional "how to" materials are now available
to sponsoring clubs, including:
- A detailed Project Manual.
- Downloadable project materials.
- Telephonic consultation with World Peace Parents
staff.
- Orientation and training for club leadership.
World Peace Parents invites Rotary clubs to
become familiar with this new, unique project and to
participate in the Empower the Family project
orientation and training. This training is currently
offered at a District level if three or more clubs
can be trained at one time, and it will also be
offered at the 2006 Rotary International Convention
in Copenhagen.
World Peace Parents is developing educational
materials for distribution to parents to use in
teaching universal virtues and principles to their
children. When these materials become available,
they will be a very powerful and unique add-on
feature for the Empower the Family project. We
